Is there something that they are not telling us? i.e. a tradition or something used by the troops??

"In Touch Ministries" is a small Evangelical group who, among other things, distribute this type of Literature to the troops. You would not run into it in Britain. The Military has a policy of allowing this to be done, as long as the group runs the material by their Chaplain Corps for approval. It is a "Nothing." Some reporter at ABC happened upon it and use the "Hook" of Bush's Evangelicalism to make a story out of it. As you can see by Rascal's post, it flips some people out.
