Interesting comparison between the choice of targets by the Al_Quaida back in 9/11 "picking symbolic targets in rage and hate , and the service to some idea carried out by people with nothing else to lose ...choosing to kill themselves in the service of an idea." And our choosing to return (export to them ) the favor as well after directly ending the major presnt threat from Afghanistan , and then making the attempt the liberation of a land that is the cradle of civilization , right in the heart of that world. Choosing to persue an idea (freedom), with less rage and hate though , and help free a people from a tyranny we too long ignored , perhaps aided , and mistakenly left in power . So with the improvement of the conditions of life there and future prosperity , if it should come could lead to a free people with more to live for and less hopelessness in the end . Was it worth it ? Will it come to pass? You create decent conditions for the majority of the people , and give them hope & freedom , and you perhaps lessen the festering grounds for future hate rage & terror. Now let's all complain about the cost ...
