Lizzi, actually most of the world is not as simple minded as yourself.

How much of the world do you think is behind the US in this war? On a percentage basis, for example?

Do you think we have strong allies for our current foreign policy?

...most of the world is not as simple minded...

Many of the people who opposed this war pre-03/19/03, including me, are not simple-minded. Personally, I have a serious concern about the Bush administration's arrogant (IMO) unilateralism. Not just in the Iraq war, but in many other ways (e.g. treaties on greenhouse gases, jurisdiction of international courts, etc.)

This kind of hubris, based on overwhelming military power, will IMO inevitably lead to a severe backlash, in forms such as terrorism and trade wars which cannot be countered with M1A2 tanks. USA is the world's biggest external debtor, and is far more dependent on the long-term goodwill of the rest-of-the-world than the administration seems to believe.

Having said that, I have been 100% supportive of the war effort since 3/19. Not just because our troops are fellow-citizens of both my native and adopted countries, but equally because the least total loss of innocent life will now be achieved by a fast victory. I am very happy that such a victory seems to be occurring.
