Another real good reason for a dog. No nut case is going to climb in the window and grab a kid if a dog is there.

Boy is that the truth. Our dog barks at the slightest abnormal sound. She also barks at us when we don't give her enough attention (which works wonders for the amount of attention she gets).

Animals make a family.

Apparently I'd forgotten that childhood feeling. Its back in full force now. <G>
