MM, we had everything at Max Pain on Friday. I think we may be looking at delta hedging. On the QQQ, they could melt this up to 30 if they really wanted to maximize their take on delta hedging.

I'm not ruling it out, especially since it will work out some divergences in the NDX and COMP if it does happen (NDX March double top with Jan top, but COMP not done with that yet, NDX if it exceeds 1154 double top COMP will have not hit its double top at 1521 yet, meaning both will have to exceed their Dec. tops to kill the divergences).

Hey, Mish...I think your update used open interest figures from BEFORE Friday (as in CBOE hadn't updated yet). When I look at OI today, I see, for instance, 320K calls at 27 vs. 56K puts. At 25, the put figure is only 223... or 40K less than yours. Makes the sequence a little more bearish, I think.
