WLD, the DJIA had a huge rally in response to AG's "surprise" ( I don't think certain privileged banks were surprised) rate cut fall 1998 post LTCM bailout. This rate cut happened in the last half hour before options expiration. Those who scoff at the notion of Fed intervention please explain why the urgency of this cut surely the rate cut could have been done after expiration. If memory serves it was around 500 points.
