No you are the one who doesn't get it. I never view culture as static. Baring few isolated places in the world, every culture has been dynamic and changing. The middle east more than most because it connects east to the west and has been a crossroad for ages. There is nothing new in your argument. What you don't seem to understand is that there is a difference between having the chance to adapt and assimilate the new environment, and being bombarded at every direction and being at massive loss against the cultural invasion. You still haven't told me how you would feel if tomorrow your daughter starts wearing Islamic hejab and you feel it is not a passing phase. ST
