Actually i think the US wants to engage jihadists so they can be eliminated. I wonder how high the iraqi casualties will ultimately be. This seems quite bloody to me. It also seems to me that almost every piece of iraqi military equipment has or will be destroyed. This is a huge victory for the US and now the job first gets hard. First thought is NO UN for post war iraq. US did a good job after WW2. We need to do that again and then perhaps turn it over to Nato, once France is expelled. Hope Blair doesnt get too soft now. He should use the political capital gained to chart an independent course. Mike
