wld, I still remember the old right wing arguments about Watergate: 1. "Do you really think the President of the United States would lie about such a stupid event?" 2. "Do you think Nixon is stupid enough to incriminate himself by taping conversations where he approved illegal actions?" It turned out the answer to both was yes, though I wondered about the second one at the time. I considered Tricky Dick evil, but not stupid. Wrong.
