Hi, unc. This story is probably off topic for this forum, but hopefully FaultLine will cut me some slack :-).

I had the pleasure of making the acquaintance of a fine young man about 6 months ago. He was a newbie photographer, participating on a photo critique site, and was in the point/shoot/print mode. He's also a lieutenant in the Air Force, and was in the process of completing flight school. I tried to give him some suggestions about photographic technique, and encouraged him to gain some skills at editing as well. He's been too busy to post lately, but has been sending me updates on his progress, and I'm delighted to report that he's not only been awarded his wings, and was #1 in his class, but has also won the Air Combat Command's photo contest last month with this patriotic montage.

This isn't intended as a political statement, but rather as a tribute to a really neat young man who loves his country and photography.
