With reference to my earlier post (33602), I noticed the same problem with speed right after my other problem started. I went to disk cleanup and it ran fine, but it shows a lot of temporary files that I am afraid to delete. Perhaps that's my problem as well as yours, but how does one know what temporary files are OK to delete without messing-up something else?
