Mike, My Dad also enlisted in the Navy before graduation and had to get a GED later on. But the patriotic thing was important back then and many were outraged by what they considered a criminal attack. The truth of the matter is that nobody since has declared war before they attacked, so the Japanese were just starting a trend. In fact, my guess is that surprise, unannounced wars were the rule and declared wars were the exception through most of history. But nobody talks about the vile Vikings. Or, hey, what's Hannibal doing in the backyard with those danged elephants? Or, Geez, who the Hell invited the Normans to visit Sicily? <g>
