Why do you care what the Euros think? The French only objected to the action in Iraq because of their business motives. Same with Germany and Russia. Saddam's bunkers are German made, weapons are French made...again, why do you want the approval of the Euros?

The thing I don't understand, LT, is why you didn't understand that it would not be reasonable for them to be found until the war was over (unless they were used, of course). That some were found before that point indicates to me that there are orders of magnitude more, in toto, than were thought.

Lizzie,

The story I posted is not confirmed as of now, some sources say it is a pesticide. There are 3 - 4 WMD stories in mid-confirmation cycle today. If they are confirmed the world will look very different this time tomorrow.

The Arab world will have an interesting reaction I think. There will be a very very harsh anti-Saddam backlash. He will be seen as someone who betrayed the Arab people, a coward and a weakling who did not fight and who lied about WMD. This will not turn Arab opinion positive for America but it will drain the puss from the wound.

FWIW, and I wont try to convince you so just take it as one thoughtful persons opinion, I think your read on Wolfowitz is wrong. The more I read, the more I hear him speak, the more I am convinced that he is one of the good guys and he has thought the issues through at a very deep level. My 'spidy sense' of him is very positive. BWDIK?

Paul

Lizzie,
re: the Europeans will lighten up a little

No it's going to get worse as far as France and Germany is concerned.

We will find their connections to saddam and also we are not going to let them have any part of Iraq.

The UN is irrelevant.
