So I guess while we're in the neighborhood we should take out the House of Saud as well?

The Saudi government isn't the best regime by many standards, but they haven't misbehaved for 20 years running around terrorizing their neighbors, getting the entire world pissed off at them and gassing their own population. A regime has to be pretty awful for outsiders to make the case for "taking them out". Zimbabwe and North Korea come to mind as a the "next candidates", and even then it should be following a decade or so of external pressure. External pressure worked on South Africa, so in some cases it can be successful.

Problem is the source for external pressure is the UN, and many of the regimes in the UN have no real legitimacy since they are not elected by the population that they rule. Too many UN-represented regimes rule because they have a big gun, and it shoots at anyone that suggests they relinquesh power. It's unlikely the UN is going to chastise Saudi Arabia for failing to promote basic human freedoms and representative government, because over half of the countries in the UN would have to also subject themselves to the same chastisement.

An excellent idea. The House of Saud is responsible for most of the terrorism in this world. Their Wahhabi Islamic sect that basically runs the country is the most vicious, virulent anti-west group on earth. They have penetrated every country with their hate and terrorism and supported by Saudi money, your oil dollar and mine. It was no coincidence that 15 of the WTC murderers came from Saudi Arabia. They are masters at hiding their real intent, that is to change the face of Islam and the civilized world. Their imams and clerics are in most of the mosques in the US while the Saudis show a face of cooperation with the West. Think Taliban and double it.
They believe other Islamic followers, Sunni and Sh'ia are infidels. I suggest reading "The Two Faces of Islam" by Schwarz if you are interested in Islamic history. A real eye opener considering the present situation in Iraq.
