GW Bush is a clever political animal with huge interests and money behind him, much of it secret, behind-the-scenes and not showing their faces or revealing their true agendae.

Bush has proven himself more front-man and con-man than honest leader. Half the campaign promises he made were dismissed once he got into power. And look HOW he got into power. He cheated. Cheating is good in Bush's playbook. Sends a lousy message to our kids. Say or do anything to get power.

The special interests behind Bush (oil, defense, heavy industry, polluters, right-wing religious and CIA types) are the new military-industrial complex Eisenhower warned us about as he left office.

Eisenhower warned these powers could transcend government checks and balances and grab too much unilateral power if we let them. The business of war trumping the wisdom and morality of war. We're already seeing that now. Listen to Eisenhower. He knew what he was talking about.

Already, we see supression of the press, dissent, secret gestapo political tactics against opposition, using and abusing hyper-nationalism, promoting wars which have little to do with self-defense.

We're heading toward a sort of quasi right-wing military dictatorship with one-party rule. You saw how Bushies buried the phony energy crisis, Enron scandals, refusing to divulge information to the public, stonewalling courts. You see how they give short shrift to congress and dont keep them informed.

It's not a pretty picture. Especially as all the most important issues that affect our lives are getting largely ignored and dismissed. Particularly the economy from which all else flows in tersm of affordability.

We are stronger militarily under Bush but much less healthy as a nation overall. We had better reverse this trend, declare the 9-11 era over and get back to the business of peace and prosperity for the next decade. If we dont we become the villains in the world, and do become what Osama Bin Lauden told the Arabs we were trying to become.
