What are they if not "invaders"? They may be invading for the noblest reasons (or not) but they most certainly are "entering by force to conquer". You may not like it that they are invaders, but under the dictionary definition they certainly seem to be. Did you expect the British would abandon their dictionaries in support of the coalition?

"invaders".

What are we?
By definition, we are invaders.

Oh, I forgot, they are terrorists and this is part
of our Unending, Unknowable War on Terror.
Oh, I forgot. We are disarming Iraq because
they pose an imminent threat.

All day long they report "Smoking Gun" "WMD Found"
Meanwhile, those 12 rusty barrels look like the
back lots of all the old industries you see
from your Window view on the New Jersey Transit Train.

Those rusty barrels don't look imminent to me.

In 24 hours they will say:
"Apparently fertilizer, agricultural plant."
By that time most of the people
who heard the original story 25 times
never get to hear the 1 "qualifier".

This is why America thinks
Iraq/AlQueda/911/BOMBs
all go together.
Reach and Frequency.
This also is Marketing.
And no postage costs!

<<"In the skies above Baghdad, A-10 jets provided cover for the Americans on the ground. The Iraqis did manage to fire on the invaders and we saw them hit the Bradleys, but as far as we could tell the ammunition bounced off.">>

Where's the slant here?!?!?!? We ARE invaders and the guy is reporting what he saw, Iraqi bullets bouncing off the Bradleys! I bet something like.....

"our A-10's sliced the Iraqi's apart but some of them did manage get some rounds off before we kicked their ass"

would probably satisfy you a little better.....
