<<The fact that a bunch of 20-year old maintenance people were ambushed on that supply run had nothing to do with the fact that the real soldiers were occupied at the front of the line, right?>>

That happens during war. And BTW they were real soldiers.

Now I am sorry she got captured and her mates got killed but that happens during war. 20 year olds fight wars because they are in the best physical shape. That said, when the rescued her I wish that they had caught the Colonel who had slapped her and let him escape from the chopper at 10,000 feet.

In the game of war and life ignorance takes no prisoners. In every random mix of a group of people both the strength and weakness is a function of those who make up that group. In sports we see teams that win a lot and some teams that don't win at all.

That tragic event occurred because a group took a wrong turn and I believe it was during one of the worse sand storms reported in that area in decades. That none of those checked a map, a compass heading, that none had thought to have brought their own GPS indicates a likely distribution of individual who did not get the danger of the environment they were in.

It had nothing to do with the fact that the first string was fighting. It was bad luck.

This is life and I doubt you will be able to understand the meaning in this essay.
