Nadine,

I think that they can lay siege to Tikrit and install a provisional government. Tikrit is less innocent than any other part of Iraq.

Once the US effectively controls Baghdad the war is over. Then the post-war battles begin. Saddam doing a Mussolini in Tikrit is an appealing image. However, I think Saddam will die Hitler's death.

Maybe Saddam's palaces could actually be used for hospitals... The Red Cross said the conditions in their hospitals are terrible. Another example of Saddams' worthlessness.

Also wonder if the Red Cross has made any effort to help find our "Missing" and POW's?
