To clarify, our foriegn policy switched to covert wars
and inaction because of Vietnam. Unfortunately that led
us to support "lessor" evils and ignoring suffering
of many. Our involvements in Somalia (feeding many),
Bosnia, Kosovo, and Haiti, got us back on to a higher ground. I only wish the world community would share
the burden instead of appeasing or ignoring problems.

enigma:

You wanted to see shock and awe. Well a good comander does not let his enemy know his strategy but you did see shock and awe today.

Yes its always US thats in the wrong. The US let the Kurds down. Of course times were a little different back then with the allies. I do believe Syria, Egypt and Jordan to name a few wanted us out of Iraq. IF the US let them down were were the French or in your case the Canadians.

But that is the role of a leader. Accept critism from those who don't like their actions. Plenty of Monday morning arm chair quarterbacks here that forget the circumstances in 1991.

shock and awe.
