jeffrey: You're quite right: a DOA or sick Dell goes back to Daddy for fix or replace. They sell refurbs in significant quantity. Consumers Reports indicates PC's as a category have around 20% 'problem rate'[over ~3 yrs, not 30 days, but with electronics, problems are often in initial startup]...much higher than other classes of goods. Dell is better than most, but I'm sure they get a bunch of them back.
