Hello Iqbal
Thank you for a good article putting things in perspective. It is amazing how easily people forget who Saddam is and what atrocities his regime has brought about. Everybody I have spoken to who supports "peace" did nothing to avert this war, or say anything against the totalitarianism, dictatorship and authoritarianism of the Baath party. They prefer to do nothing and just any event, short of war, take place. In their thinking so long as there is no war, all is fine, even tyranny and oppression. Arabs of course have a blind eye: anything Arab is good, even the most destructive regimes that start wars, invade neighbors, annex neighbors, oppress populations and destroy institutions and healthy evolutions.
Thanks Hamid from Iran

Ike,
You're right, that war was probably the only way to replace Saddam's regime, and seams to be as clean as possible for the time being. I hope that allies will give back power to iraqi democrats as soon as possible and will not keep oil benefits for them but for iraqi people.

Iqbal, this is a great article! I have made copies of this and I am shoving it into the face of many of my anti-American chat and pannis. You were right on the dot with your predictions. The new slogan (nara) in Baghdad is 'stay, stay, U.S.A.)! Way to go.
Love, Riaz

Ilatif,
I agree with everything you said in your article. We are appalled by the Arab world who carry Saddam's picture around, openly siding with the most vicious oppressor of Arabs in modern times against us. They have sunk to their lowest level. The lies, propaganda and ignorance in that part of the world is beyond anyone's comprehension, and I don't see it reversing course anytime soon. It's more likely that Arabs will quickly begin spreading their lies in Iraq and turn the people there against us in a very short time. Bush is betting that he can set up a democracy there that will be the catalyst for reform in the Arab world. I hope he's right, but it's going to be a long, long struggle.

Dear Iqbal, You are speaking some hard truth which most of the people avoid. We live in a world where black is black and white is white. No illusions and impractical approach can resolve our problems.
Good going, on both occasions.
Best Wishes K Jamil
