That's probably the best, closest analogy to what I fear is going to develop. I hope that America can learn from the experience of others, rather than having to learn that lesson the hard way. If we have to keep the peace with patrols of American soldiers in the streets of Iraqi cities, we are on the slippery slope of provoking a anti-American guerrilla war. We have got to, quickly, set up an Iraqi force to patrol the streets, and withdraw American soldiers to bases outside populated areas. It is crucial to make our occupation as invisible as possible to the average Iraqi. The more we are seen, the more we will be hated. We have weeks to months, not years, to do this.
