<<If the "Patriot Act" had been in effect in the 60s and 70s, most of the underground movements that eventually led to the end of the Vietnam war would have vanished without a trace>>

Right you are.

They've learned a lesson or two.

The only hope of our democracy is secure digital communications, and whistleblowers that can get their message out before they are silenced.

The challenge for the fascists is controlling the internet.

I've finally decided (a)yes we live in a fascist environment, and (b)to keep plugging along, as did some who managed to do some good even under Hitler, until that regime failed. Like the monks in the Dark Ages, the primary importance is keeping records from being altered or destroyed.

Today's newspaper is a good example of the psy-ops. So-called "polls" show "increased support", while on the inside of the last page, the least-viewed page, is the article about the protesters being beat up and shot at with rubber bullets after bogus claims of provocation.
