This Time, Sell on a MO Miracle Settlement
Tuesday April 8, 1:06 pm ET

By James J. Cramer,

The last time MO (NYSE:MO - News) (now Altria, nee Philip Morris) danced to the tune of a bond, a few years ago in front of a Florida court, we got lots of bankruptcy rumors and lots of fears that we would be in a Texaco situation. People really thought that Philip Morris would file for bankruptcy because there would be no choice. The Florida legislature gave it the break, and the stock flew from $18 to $26.

But as I never tire of saying, that was a very different MO. First, it was a lot cheaper than it is now. Second, the business was a lot better than it is now.<<
