You can't have it both ways, Condor. And it is really very simple. The engine of growth in the US is small business. Small is defined by our Government as under 500 employees. When small business doesn't thrive, then the system begins to shut down. Look around ....you will see.

Why should anyone want to use his/her own capital to start a company and deal with all the hardship that that entails, if there is no reward?

Why would a shareholder want to invest in the company if there is no reward?

I think that the left doesn't want to answer the question, because they can't. It would be an interesting survey to see how many of whatever political party have ever owned a small business. Also, how long did they own it, how many employees did they have, and how much did they spend for benefits? How long did they stay in business? And why did they quit?
