Arrogance? Intolerance? These are not Arab characteristics; these are human ones.

There are a few more human characteristics that could be added to that list too...funny , in the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding " ...the proud Greek father always demonstrating how every word you could name came from the Greeks ! The Greeks started it all ! Islam also pines for those earlier days of glory , and the religion mandates it yet too much of that Pan~Arab realities leads to deep cynicism , suspicion , hopelessness and rage at the wealth, peace and prosperity Allah should have provided , but never comes thru with. Yet cultures do not have to "clash" , they can exchange , and in some places even merge... and in the end tolerate and understand.
(ie=great satan <G>)

It is not enough to change the physical landscapes , but we have to change the human landscape too, and offer people a larger diverse and more accurate backgrounds to those images they carry of each other . Better understanding comes thru --->contact , and change is possible through connecting to the youth , and more open education & more employment...lot of catching up to do , especially with ever-increasing populations .

Nature's way is not always the best , populations have to become moderated at this time to current geographical limitations...as in Egypt where the major population densities (70%) in the inhabited areas that make up only 5%
of the total land are approaching 5000 persons per sq/mi.

Centuries later , humans are piling in , and nature moans .None of Egypt’s environmental difficulties is impossible to solve. However, in an economy that is short on financial resources, it is often hard to find the political will and money to invest in long-term environmental protection.
