I knew you would finally degenerate to the point of calling Saddam a right-winger. Saddam has no politics - he is a cold-blooded maniacal killer, much like Hitler, Idi Amin & others. These people are less than animals and must be eliminated early on to stem the carnage they spawn. Kind of like democrat party operatives?

Agreed. Iraq controlled much of the economy itself, making it more of a Socialist economy. But, the following definition fits his political regime pretty well: o A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism. o A political philosophy or movement based on or advocating such a system of government.
