And just so that we are in the clear. I believe that the most important rule that must not be breached is that there has to be a non-violent way (but not a guarantee) for anyone to achieve their goal no matter how extreme it may sound. In our society, that usually means you gather support for your view and win elections.

Anyone who is a "true believer" wants to promote his ideology and thinks he has all the answers. Islamists are not any different in this regard than Christians or anyone else. They come in many varieties. At one end there are those who believe anything that is not against Islam can be promoted. At the other end there are those who believe only what is called for in Islam can be promoted. But the issue is not, cannot, and should not be about what they believe in. The issue should be about the acceptability of that process. If we make it about the beliefs, then we are nothing but a modern day inquisition.

Will I ever vote for them? Certainly not. But like a wise man once said, though I completely disagree with you, I am willing to give my life so you can speak your opinion.
