Jay, The Kaboom will be more like glaciation. A glaciation is a more accurate analogy.

The glaciation is trigered. There's no way to stop it. It has to run its full course. Only that as it is cooling down, there are short periods of heating up and then cooling again.

The Kaboom is not going to be pyrotechnical. It will have a glacial pace. There is no way out: It will get cold and colder.

On real glacial pace, we are just now on a brief warm perido with a full glacial period in about 6.000 years.
