We sacrificed our sons and daughters for the cold war. We should have let Vietnam do whatever it wanted. I grieve for anyone who dies in an imperialistic war (on either side)- but that does not make me wish we had undertaken the war, or won it. People die in all sorts of causes, and sadly sometimes they die in stupid ones. IMO Vietnam was a stupid cause. If we had left it alone, the Cambodian autocide would never have happened. As for your closing lines, they seem to be some pitiful variant of "America love it or leave it". I say "America, love it and express your ideas in it".
