Dull Smiles in the UK (4/8)
The European Union has banned the use of hydrogen peroxide to whiten teeth. While most EU countries seem to be ignoring the ban, dentists in the United Kingdom have been warned that they face six months in jail or a £5,000 ($7,870) fine if they offer the treatment, which involves applying bleaching gel to the surface of the teeth using an individually fashioned mouth mould. The government has also warned the makers of at-home bleaching kits that they face prosecution.

>> I can tell you it won't be to depopulate hundreds of villages and kill every living thing.

John, I don't know with what degree of assurance you can tell me that.

I looked at your profile. It says 44 years old. You were 9 years old in 1968, so possibly you didn't watch TV news about the war against VietNam. Your description that I quoted above is very much what the US in fact did. It was called a campaign of pacification - Operation Phoenix. The population of hundreds of villages were relocated into camps, and agent orange dropped on large tracts of coutry-side, in order to kill everything that the VietNamese could make use of.

>>I can tell you it won't be to depopulate hundreds of villages and kill every living thing.<<

You must not be familiar with Vietnam B-52 carpet bombing, free fire zones, and agent orange. A free fire zone, for your information, was a segment of the country where every living thing was a legitimate target, since the population had been warned to move or else.

Do you think we will behave differently in Iraq, if there is a popular revolt? I am not so sure, since the guys that are running things thought we were too soft in Vietnam.
