I set it up with a Sony turntable connected by a Y-cord to the sound input on my PowerBook. All the stuff can be had at Radio Shack. Roxio Toast has a program called CD Spin Doctor that converts the analog to digital with some minimal ability to clean up the pops and scratches. I recorded them in AIFF full CD quality then converted them to .mp3's pretty much as fast as they would play. I'm pretty happy with most of the stuff I've transferred, enough that I don't intend to replace any vinyl with CD.

If you have a cable connection I'll send you a converted cut to compare.
