"Mr. Behrens said he will boycott French products, but German products are another matter. That's because he's a Mercedes fan and also of German extraction. As for Canada, he said, it was business as usual and his firm just raised a US$5-million private placement for an outstanding Ontario corporation."............lol....how convienent of him to not boycott the german products he loves so much. Makes you wonder why the post or Diane Francis would bother printing anything this idiot says.

Expect severe consequences from anti-U.S. stance
Failure to back U.S. war effort is foreign policy disaster

I doubt it will be a disaster although there might be minor negative results.

Most American negativity seems to be pointed at France, and I imagine that even a lot of that will be smoothed over.

Well Diane is Diane... What she says is usually pretty predictable.
Interesting we're being primed for another rate hike up here.
The US is being primed for at best status quo rate wise and maybe even another cut.
I changed some of my longer term investments many months back because I was thinking along those lines. Hope I'm right, so far so good :o)

There is hope that cheaper oil will aid the economic outlook down south although high energy costs didn't tank it to begin with.... then again rate cuts did nada.... stay tuned..

FWI Looks to me like a large and gradual redistribution in wealth is coalescing and I'm watching where our trade goes from here.. looking for a lot more PAC Rim influence and at the expense of north south trade. No not tomorrow but it just may be a trend.
