I would say we should remain cautiously optimistic until we see what happens in Tikrit.....

Dismembering Saddam

On TV now, they've taken apart the huge statue and dragging the head of Saddam around the streets.

Can you imagine what would have happened if we hadn't wasted our bombs on his bunker? Somewhere, Saddam is grateful that we either killed him quickly or gave him a route to escape.

Seriously though, it takes something like this to realize how lucky we are to have freedoms from which much of the world only dreams. Yes, we need to improve our government to remove the greed factor, but compared to what we see elsewhere, we truly are blessed.

<< three cheers for blair and bush! imagine the resolve it took to persevere under the pressure of "international opposition" >>

What backbone and courage both Bush and Blair showed! In fact, in the early going Blair was risking his office. The polls were definitely against him. The British polls have turned around and now the people support Blair's actions in Iraq.

What were the chances in history of having two clear thinking, brilliant and courageous leaders in power, at the same time?

Anyone see the cowardly, corrupt leaders of France, Belgium, Germany or Russia?
