we would see the mood of the Iraqi populace turn fairly quickly

I was thinking last night that if there were a Futures contract on Iraqi sentiment for the US, I would be looking for a good place to go short. Although there may be some spikes up, before next fall I expect the enthusiasm will be lower and headed downward.

"He says the tough work is just beginning. I agree."

So do I. It will not be easy. The cost of achieving freedom
is always high, but it is worth it.

I also expect this thread & others on SI to completely
ignore their numerous horrific prognostications on the war
& move on to the next boogeyman....... gaining the peace &
bringing democracy......... It will be replete with
countless gloom & doom predictions, lies, distortions,
conspiracies & spurious allegations. There will be a kernel
of truth to some of the spew to give the perception of
legitimacy to the unwashed masses & allow for personal self
deception.

And most of it will be purely political & not whatever
excuse they conjure up to masquerade this undeniable truth.
