There where definite signs it was heading that way before the election. Gore never changed his plans or at least he did not announce any such change.

It makes tons of sense. Taxes are a drag on the economy.

I sometimes jump ahead to reply to posts to me. I'll see your response to Brian when I catch up to the rest of the thread. Currently I'm on post 167055.

Maybe under Gore but Clinton knew his economy.

I don't think I agree with the idea that Clinton had any special insight to the economy, but to the extent that he did he would know that canceling tax cuts while going in to a recession isn't a good thing.
