A transatlantic row threatened to erupt over the future of Iraq last night when France demanded that the United Nations take over from Britain and America once the fighting ends.

Oh well... NOW they want to get the UN involved...

Maybe they'll want to bring Saddam or the Baathists back into power just to maintain the peace?

The last thing I want to see is France, China, or Russia possessing veto authority with regard to the rebuilding of Iraq. If they want to play a role, then let them pony up the bucks to buy their ticket.
