From Ramsey Su (purely guessing)

I have no idea what estimates are for China Unicom's March sub adds. Judging from recent events, analysts no doubt would use opportunity to bash qcom.

My guess is - there is little chance that unicom would show anything good for March, with 1x launch starting Mar 28 and prepays still a couple of months away.

My guess is - that Samsung and Nokia are bitterly contesting and courting Unicom for those cheapo prepay 1x handsets, no features needed but low price points a must. (could be up to 8 million handsets just this yr)

My guess - regardless of what happens in the first month or two of launch, Unicom has already targeted the 11-13 million (depending on which report you read) or so new subs for the year. As they have proven last year, they will do whatever is needed to meet that.
