Hardly a "moderate" position. Kerry is obviously thinking about the primaries and pandering to the Democratic base. If he actually wins the nomination, he could come to regret this hard line position. I suspect that we will see him tacking back to the center. An amusing rationalization: He contrasted support for Roe v. Wade ''because it is a constitutional right'' with Republican demands that judicial nominees oppose abortion rights. ''They're trying to undo a constitutional right,'' he said. ''That's the difference.''
