Militant Islamists or Islamist Extremists will do for me. Using the term Islamist alone is a poor choice imo because I assure you that Ayatollah Sistani, who so far has supported our troops and has helped keep the peace, is just as interested in the rule of Islam as anyone else. It is just that from his perspective, when most of the society sees the light, they will fallow Islam's edicts without the need of force. Whereas in Khomeini's way, the state must force the people to "see the light". They are both Islamists. I can respect one but not the other.
