Yup, if the economy doesn't improve, Bush could end up just like Bush Sr. However, there are so many other variables that could still allow for Bush to be re-elected even with a poor economy. If his war on terrorism is going reasonably well, folks will not be too excited to put a democrat in, regardless of his stance on war or fighting terrorism. There are so many other what if's, that speculating now would be as much folly as guaranteeing Bush Sr. would win right after the end of the Gulf War. Whoda thunk he'd lose?
