If there is any opposition then it aint about this war, it is opposition that was already there.

I understand the comfort of thinking of the resentment towards the US as from just a few radicals and something that was already there. However, you must remember the solidarity with the US immediately after 9/11. Did you see that solidarity and sympathy eroded little by little by Bush et al?

The fact is that there was no opposition towards the US immediately after 9/11 from most of the world - certainly not from Europe. A lot of people were wearing t-shirts with US flags in them in France (believe it). That sentiment changed over the course of the past year.
