We decided to buy a couple of Dixie Chicks albums with all the stupid hoopla about boycotting them. Also made a point of going to see Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine,"and the theatre was packed, the audience enthusiastic. The Chicks are cool country rockers and we like their music a lot. and, while I am not traditionally a Moore fan, "Bowling" was like a breath of fresh air. Need to refresh our cooler with some fine French wines, as well. It strikes me that the most rabid xenophobes have never been overseas, and often, barely out of their home states. France is great in the summertime. We are heading back for vacation in June. People are friendly, and much more polite than in most northeastern U.S. states. And I'll bet there will be some fine travel bargains too.
