John,

Here's my thinking.

1. This war was to rid the world of the Saddam regime and the threat it posed to the United States.

2. That the war freed the Iraqi people from the hands of this dictator was a wonderful benefit but was not the motivation that you imply.

3. You don't seem to have the slightest belief that Saddam had any WMD. I do.

4. Not only that, you don't seem to worry that his possession of these WMD's and his denial of same was of sufficient danger to our security that action to remove the regime was a necessity.

5. Vietnam was a terrible mistake. This is not Vietnam.

6. Loss of ~47,000 American lives in Vietnam was not justified.

7. The loss of 1-200 American and British soldier's lives in this war was and is justified.

8. The loss of any innocent civilian lives is a terrible but real consequence of any war - justifiable or not.

9. The world is much better off without Saddam in possession of WMD's, an unlimited source of funds, and a country under his control by virtue of mass fear.

10. The rest of the world can now find out for themselves what the Saddam regime was doing now that Iraqis have the freedom to say and act without fear of retribution.

11. Little by little, the Truth will overcome the lies being spread in the Arab world by the Arab media and their corrupt governments.

12. Israel will never be vanquished.

13. Someday, the Arab's will learn that the path to peaceful coexistence is not through terrorism.

Respecfully,

Barry
