At least they kept social order. And the buses running on time, lol.

They have scheduled with some amazing coordination the things needed to be followed on in the anticipation of the aftermath , this from Kuwait as Rrrum~Rrrum mentioned this am.

Given the fierceness of the fight with both the desert storms & the Guard up into Baghdad ,they'll do the follow on civil-structural aid work pretty soon after,. They have the railroads up and running from the southern major cities soon also . Tons of aid will pour in.

Was looking at some of those Palaces , they should be used as hospitals first , (after the GI's get their rest) , and couldn;t help thinking what great music conservatories and and performing art centers or museums they would make some day. ..or whatever they want.

They could name the first one "The Palace of Democracy "!

(but they should be very sensitive to sending the right continued messages , and I thought those marines in the square today , should have flown the Iraqi Flag , side by side with the our Stars and Stripes, not just the American Flag. We don''t need to give the Arab press any bad photo-ops , especially one as symbolic..but the GI was quick to remove it )
