You suck, big-time." I remember feeling that way during the Viet Nam war, which I protested. I know what you're saying now. I do not doubt your patriotism, with the motto, "terrorists suck" on your profile. People who thought the war was a bad idea are not un-American. In this war, I hoped for diplomatic resolution until the last minute, but supported the war. The reasons are largely are what you articulated. Amazing congruence between a protestor and a supporter! One small caveat is my belief that Jacques Chirac was posturing for a position in leading Europe, potentially in a Constitutional Convention. Further, the announcement that France would veto a U.N. resolution took the U.N. out of the argument, and made war inevitable. Therefore, I found his pre-war activities extremely unhelpful. I'd give him a big sloppy Freedom kiss and shove a Freedom tickler up his --- for that. Needless to say his passive-aggressive, "set-up and beat-up" position will cause Europe to revile the memory of Jacques Chirac. Similarly, Gerhard Schroeder has played out his political life. He was re-elected on an anti-US platform, and is sucking our butt now. In conservative, straight-ahead Germany, his dishonor and self-interest will be evident to voters. With 11% unemployment, practical Germans will not favor any further rift with the big-Walmart USA. Goodbye Chirac, Schroeder, Saddam. Especially, goodbye Saddam. It's all over except the DNA tests. If he lives yet, he will regret it. Oh yeah. You might want to add, "thank-you, Brits!!!", which hasn't been said nearly enough. P.S. Thank you, Brits!!!
