Dennis, don't you get SkyTV as well. I heard that they were not slanting the news they way the rest of the European media was.

News analysts said yesterday - and it sounded right to me - that the UN charter and existing resolutions will allow them to engage in humanitarian aid to Iraq but engaging in post-Saddam governance without another UN resolution passed by the Security Council would not be lawful.

The US of course has veto power on the Security Council.

So I expect another nasty showdown between France and the US in the UN.

I hope not, as it would do further damage to the UN, and US/France relations.
