RE:" releasing flight information of any planes (date, time, flight #) that had people on the infected SARS plane to all people?

- mandate that airplanes tell you what their air-filter quality is (most popular planes have as low as 40% filtering effectiveness)

- why don't airlines have an immediate way to contact people who were on board a SARS infected flight?

- why are we enabling so much travel to infected areas?

- why don't we mandate that corporations not travel to infected areas? GM is one of the few companies whose policy is doing it right. (Maybe HP too).

- why don't we step up inspections of SARS cases on planes?

- why don't we mandate SARS testing for anyone from an infected area?

- and my favorite... why don't we all just stay at home for 12 days (max incubation period) and take time off without pay, and just let it all pass? : ) If we're all at home, it can't spread. Well, I guess we can infect those at home - where do they put quarantined people? In hospitals I hope.

edit: here's a thought... what a boom to broadband, if we all worked from home... just kidding.

2nd edit: at work, I created a policy that if someone has traveled to an infected area (or has visited with a close friend or close relative from an infected area), they get to stay at home for 12 days. People took note, and one employee's spouse is canceling a business trip."

Sounds like yor best bet is ...

1. Don't fly.
2. Don't fly into infected areas.

OTOH...
Where are your questions...

1. Why don't airlines carry parachutes for all passengers?
2. Why don't we mandate AIDs testing for all passengers that have traveled to high AIDs infected areas?
3. Why can't we control our borders?

Jim

Maybe the USA is handling SARS the same way they handle AIDS?
