you can't get out of the stratum you're born on That's less than off base elmat. It's dead wrong. All my antecedents were dirty-poor from the 17th century French to the 19th century Irish to the early 20th century Chinese.

Economicaly speaking: my family recently sold a family business employing hundreds of workers to a large Canadian conglomerate. Many of my first cousins and my two siblings are very successful in a variety of fields. Maybe we are an anomaly but many in our family have managed to do quite well here.

Socially speaking: My aunt upon here 80th birthday received a greeting from the Pope and the Prime Minister and assorted lower level folks..

So yeah the dirt-poor scum of the earth can make here in the frozen north if they want... we did.

Hmmm! So the US may really be quite pragmatic and realistic wrt the Kurds. Still Tribalism as in Africa is a huge problem here... Blood feuds sheesh...
