The British reporter in Damascus said that flag photo was the ONLY photo of the statute scene that was shown on Syrian TV.

Interesting take, the CNN reporter in Doha reported this morning that this picture appeared on page 1 of ONLY 1 paper. They'd reviewed 13 or 15 papers from various nations in the middle east.

TWT, won't it FL.... BUT, the Flag could be viewed as another symbol too. We came, helped them by getting rid of Saddam and his followers at great personal cost, then helped them put up their own flag.

I also noticed yesterday that the media did start snipeing already.... One example (of several) was to wonder outloud about the small group of Iraqi's at the statue....Maybe a few hundred.

Did they think that engraved invitations were sent out so the entire populace could attend?

And really, if the media is so concerned about a seemingly small number, then why on earth do they concentrate on protesters that number maybe 5 to 15 on a street corner?

furthermore, it deeply insulted them.

It "Insulted" them? Screw em, FL. How many insults are we supposed to take? I am tired of reading about "Arab Rage," The "Arab Street" how the Arab Culture cannot accept "Humiliation."

Let them face the facts about the complete failure of their Culture to provide a decent living for their people. Its like a guy who succeeds at AA. First he has to face the reality about himself.
